FCC Communities Foundation has committed to supporting the redevelopment of a popular community football pitch, in Lostock Gralam.
The Lostock Gralam Community Centre football pitch on Stubbs Lane, is a step closer to the much-needed redevelopment as a result of a funding grant from FCC Communities Foundation, as well as Veolia Environmental Trust.
Lostock Gralam Parish Council has announced that both of their grant applications were successful, which means they will receive £63,945.
The money will be used to build an impressive 30-metre by 15-metre multi-use games area (MUGA), with a carpet surface, at the Stubbs Lane site, replacing the existing grass football pitch.
Mark Venables, the Executive Committee Chairman for the project said: “We are delighted with both grant outcomes, and look forward to delivering this fantastic project for the Lostock Gralam Community, enabling them to keep active all year round.
“Special thanks to FCC Communities Foundation for their grant of £30,445 for the MUGA fence, and to Veolia Environmental Trust for their grant of £33,500 for the MUGA surface.”
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.
It is anticipated that the project will be complete for spring 2021.
